About INSTALLIX Services

Store Furniture Assembly for Independent Retailers

INSTALLIX Services is a small Chicago-area crew that assembles store furniture and freestanding fixtures for independent stores, boutiques, pop-ups and showrooms in Chicago and nearby suburbs. We take the jobs large rollout installers skip: one store, one delivery, a few dozen pieces. Typical jobs include display tables, clothing racks, freestanding shelving, display cases, cabinets, cash wraps, fitting room benches and stockroom shelving. Wall-mounted systems, gondola runs and slatwall are reviewed individually.

We work with boutique owners, franchise owners, showroom managers and property managers. You get a written scope and price before the job, direct contact with the people doing the work, and assembly scheduled before opening, after closing or on weekends, so customers never walk into a half-built sales floor.

We don't do electrical, fixture fabrication, sign wiring or structural work, and we don't haul packaging off-site. At the end of every job we break down the boxes, move all packaging to your mall or building's designated disposal area, and leave the sales floor clean, tidy and ready for customers.

FAQ

Retail Fixture & Store Installation FAQs

What types of retail fixtures and store furniture do you assemble?

We assemble manufacturer-supplied store furniture and freestanding fixtures: display tables, clothing racks, shelving, display cases, counters, cabinets, fitting room furniture and stockroom shelving. We work with boutiques, independent stores, franchise locations, pop-ups and showrooms. Wall-mounted systems are reviewed individually.

Can you work overnight or after the store closes?

Yes. Night, after-hours, and weekend scheduling is available for retail assembly projects when needed. We understand that fixture assembly during normal store hours can interfere with customers, employees, deliveries, and sales, so we can coordinate work around the store’s operating schedule and building access requirements.

What do you do with boxes and packaging after a retail assembly job?

We break down cardboard, collect packaging and normal assembly debris, and move it to the dumpster, recycling area or loading dock your mall or building management designates. Please confirm that spot before the job. We do not haul packaging or debris off-site, but we always leave the sales floor clean and tidy.

Can you provide a COI for a mall, shopping center, or property manager?

Yes. INSTALLIX Services carries General Liability insurance, and a Certificate of Insurance (COI) can be provided when required by a landlord, shopping center, property manager, building management company, or other commercial facility. Please send the insurance requirements before the installation date so the documentation can be prepared correctly.

What happens if fixtures arrive damaged or parts are missing?

If we discover shipping damage, missing hardware, incorrect components, or another issue that prevents proper installation, we notify the client as soon as possible. We can document the issue with photos or video, continue with unaffected fixtures when practical, and coordinate a return visit after replacement parts or the correct product are available.

Can you install fixtures while the store is still operating?

In many cases, yes. The exact approach depends on the installation area, customer traffic, building rules, and safety requirements. For occupied retail locations, we can coordinate phased work, restricted work zones, or after-hours installation to help minimize disruption to normal store operations.

Do you cut, rebuild, or modify store fixtures to make them fit?

We specialize in the professional assembly and installation of manufactured and prefabricated retail fixtures. We do not fabricate, redesign, structurally modify, or cut products to change their intended dimensions. If a fixture is incompatible with the site or supplied incorrectly, we notify the client before proceeding.

How big a retail project can you handle?

Most of our retail jobs are one store: from a few dozen pieces up to a full sales floor of freestanding furniture and fixtures, usually done in one or two days by one or two installers. For larger store setups, send the fixture list and schedule, and we'll tell you honestly whether we're the right fit.

What areas do you serve for retail assembly?

Chicago and nearby suburbs, roughly within an hour's drive, including stores in Oak Brook, Schaumburg, Orland Park, Evanston, Naperville and Chicago neighborhoods. Farther out? Send your store location and we'll confirm.

Scope of Work

What We Do — and What We Don’t

We assemble and install manufacturer-supplied furniture, fixtures, and equipment that arrives ready to assemble. From boxed components to a properly assembled, positioned, and ready-to-use commercial space, our team follows the product instructions and your project requirements.

Boxed commercial furniture ready for assembly

We Do

  • Unbox and organize manufacturer-supplied components
  • Assemble furniture, fixtures, and equipment according to manufacturer instructions
  • Level, align, and make normal assembly adjustments for proper function
  • Secure products using manufacturer-provided hardware and designated attachment points when applicable
  • Position completed items according to your approved floor plan or project layout
  • Consolidate cardboard and packaging and move it to the on-site collection, recycling, loading, or disposal area designated by the client
  • Leave the immediate installation area organized and ready for the next stage of your project

We Don’t

  • Manufacture or fabricate custom furniture, fixtures, or equipment
  • Cut products or drill custom holes that are not part of the manufacturer’s installation requirements
  • Haul packaging, debris, or old furniture off-site
  • Repair products or components that arrive damaged
  • Do electrical, plumbing, drywall or permit work
  • Alter a product to make an incorrect size, model, or configuration fit the space

If a part is missing, incorrect, or arrives damaged, we photograph and document the issue and provide the project contact with the information needed for the supplier or manufacturer claim. Whenever practical, we continue with unaffected items so the remaining installation can stay on schedule.

This scope applies to our standard commercial assembly and installation services. If your project has unusual site conditions or special requirements, send us the details before scheduling so we can confirm what is included. Client-provided on-site packaging collection or disposal access is required; off-site hauling is not included unless arranged separately.
