Scope of Work

What We Do — and What We Don’t

We assemble and install manufacturer-supplied furniture, fixtures, and equipment that arrives ready to assemble. From boxed components to a properly assembled, positioned, and ready-to-use commercial space, our team follows the product instructions and your project requirements.

Boxed commercial furniture ready for assembly

We Do

  • Unbox and organize manufacturer-supplied components
  • Assemble furniture, fixtures, and equipment according to manufacturer instructions
  • Level, align, and make normal assembly adjustments for proper function
  • Secure products using manufacturer-provided hardware and designated attachment points when applicable
  • Position completed items according to your approved floor plan or project layout
  • Consolidate cardboard and packaging and move it to the on-site collection, recycling, loading, or disposal area designated by the client
  • Leave the immediate installation area organized and ready for the next stage of your project

We Don’t

  • Manufacture or fabricate custom furniture, fixtures, or equipment
  • Cut products or drill custom holes that are not part of the manufacturer’s installation requirements
  • Haul packaging, debris, or old furniture off-site
  • Repair products or components that arrive damaged
  • Do electrical, plumbing, drywall or permit work
  • Alter a product to make an incorrect size, model, or configuration fit the space

If a part is missing, incorrect, or arrives damaged, we photograph and document the issue and provide the project contact with the information needed for the supplier or manufacturer claim. Whenever practical, we continue with unaffected items so the remaining installation can stay on schedule.

This scope applies to our standard commercial assembly and installation services. If your project has unusual site conditions or special requirements, send us the details before scheduling so we can confirm what is included. Client-provided on-site packaging collection or disposal access is required; off-site hauling is not included unless arranged separately.

FAQ

Office Furniture Assembly FAQs

Do you assemble cubicles and office workstations?

Yes. We assemble office desks, standing desks, workstations and simple freestanding or panel cubicles for offices in Chicago and nearby suburbs. Larger or powered panel systems are reviewed individually: send us the product specs and layout, and we'll confirm before quoting.

Can you help prepare office furniture for a relocation?

Yes. We can disassemble desks, workstations, cubicles, and other office furniture at the existing location, prepare the components for relocation, and reassemble them at the new office. We do not transport furniture or organize the office move itself. Transportation and moving logistics are arranged by the client or their moving company.

What areas do you serve for office installation projects?

Chicago and nearby suburbs, roughly within an hour's drive, including the Loop, River North, West Loop, Oak Brook, Naperville, Schaumburg and Evanston. Farther out? Ask, and we'll quote it with a travel charge or tell you honestly it isn't a fit.

Can you work at night or after business hours in an office building?

Yes. We can schedule office furniture assembly at night, after normal business hours, or on weekends when the building and project allow it. This is often useful for occupied offices and business centers where daytime installation could disrupt employees, tenants, customers, elevators, or normal building operations.

Can you provide a COI if building management requires one?

Yes. INSTALLIX Services carries General Liability insurance, and a Certificate of Insurance (COI) can be provided when required by a property manager, landlord, building management company, or commercial facility before work begins. Please send us the building’s insurance requirements in advance so the documentation can be prepared correctly.

What do you do with boxes and packaging after office furniture assembly?

We break down cardboard, collect packaging and normal assembly debris, and move it to the dumpster, recycling area or loading dock your building management designates. Please confirm that spot before the job. We do not haul packaging or debris off-site, but we always leave the office clean and tidy.

What happens if office furniture arrives damaged or parts are missing?

If we find shipping damage, missing hardware, incorrect components, or another issue that prevents proper assembly, we notify the client as soon as possible. We can document the problem with photos or video, continue installing unaffected furniture when practical, and coordinate a return visit after replacement parts or the correct product are available.

Can you assemble office furniture we ordered online?

Yes. We regularly assemble flat-pack furniture from retailers like IKEA, Wayfair, Amazon, Uline and office furniture suppliers. Send us the product links or order confirmation, and we'll quote the assembly in writing.
